New video series on plant’s benefits, history and more unveiled here throughout June
Jackson, Miss. – In honor of Grand Gulf Nuclear Station’s upcoming twenty-fifth anniversary, Entergy Mississippi, Inc. will unveil a four-part video series on the state’s only nuclear plant. Each video focuses on a different topic, including how Grand Gulf benefits Mississippi’s communities and economy, a new initiative to help meet Mississippi’s future energy needs, a look at the plant’s early development and safety at the plant.
A different video will post here each week for four consecutive weeks starting Sunday, May 30. This week’s video focuses on economic benefits of the plant.
“The video series is both educational and entertaining, and clearly demonstrates Grand Gulf’s importance to all of Mississippi,” said Haley Fisackerly, president and chief executive officer of Entergy Mississippi, Inc. “The plant’s not only a source of reliable, affordable and clean electricity, but it’s played a significant role in helping the state attract jobs and industry.”
The series features the familiar voice of Mississippi’s own Bill Ellison, host of “Grass Roots,” a blue grass radio show on Mississippi Public Broadcasting since 1992. A long-time radio personality and music performer, Ellison received a “Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts” this year for his contributions to Mississippi’s cultural heritage.
